Acid Jazz Dusk: Warm Fuzz, Brushed Drums

About this playlist

This playlist moves through a murky, low-lit landscape where electric piano bleeds into its own overdrive and horn lines arrive softened, as if recorded through worn tape. Acid jazz and nu jazz sit close to neo soul and trip hop here, so the drums often feel loose and slightly behind the beat, with brushed snares sinking into thick bass that rounds off every transient. Guitar grain shows up as a smeared, reverb-soaked haze rather than a sharp lead, and the mix leaves plenty of murk between elements. It suits late-night headphone sessions, slow commutes through rain, or any stretch where you want the room around the sound to feel as dense as the sound itself. Sequencing favors gradual darkening, so the textures thicken as the hours pass. Curated by marcstolz, it draws on the shadowed corners of the downtempo spectrum.
