New French Shoegaze: Haze, Coldwave and Dream Pop

About this playlist

Press play and the guitars arrive first, not as riffs but as a warm smear of tremolo and reverb that seems to hang in the air before it settles. This selection leans into the French end of the shoegaze spectrum, where the wash meets cold synth lines borrowed from coldwave. Drum machines sit low and unhurried, often pushed back into the mix so the haze has room to breathe. Some pieces drift toward dream pop, with softer vocal layers buried under chorus and delay; others tighten into post-punk pulse, with bass lines that cut through the fog like a dim streetlight. The mood is nocturnal and a little distant, the kind of music that suits late train rides, rain on glass, or a long walk with headphones on. Consider it.
