About this playlist
This playlist sounds like a record played a few too many times on a warm turntable. The edges are soft, the highs sit slightly dulled, and a faint surface hiss runs under everything like a low room tone. Classic rock grit meets soft rock's cushioned low end, while yacht rock keeps the bass round and the keys glassy. Glam metal surfaces now and then with a brighter, more brittle guitar bite, but it never fully breaks the mood. The tempo feel stays unhurried, with snare hits that land a beat late and vocals that drift in and out of the mix. Reverb is generous but not washy, giving each track a sense of a room that has gone quiet after everyone left. It works best late in a long stretch.
