Queercore Fuzz and Tape Hiss: Riot Grrrl Edges

About this playlist
This anthology gathers queercore and riot grrrl recordings that sound like they were pulled from a cassette left too long in a warm car. Guitars arrive smeared and slightly out of focus, their top end rolled off until the strings feel like they are breathing through cloth. Shoegaze washes sit behind vocals that stay close and conversational, while midwest emo phrasing cuts through in short, nervous bursts. Drums are loose and human, sometimes sliding out of the groove for a beat before snapping back. The mix leaves air between instruments, so every hiss, feedback bloom, and room tail becomes part of the atmosphere. Put it on for late-night walks, long drives with the windows cracked, or any moment that needs a bruised, defiant softness.
